Ski Touring – First Steps

Jan -March 2021

“Ski touring“ is a general term referring to the freely ski movement in mountains. In order to do ski touring you need special equipment – touring skis, boots, bindings and skins, that allows to “walk” with skis without slipping back. Ski touring is a widely spread sport in the alpine and Scandinavian countries for centuries and it’s getting more and more popular in Bulgaria as well. Technically, it is a combination of skiing and mountaineering and requires serious attitude, skills and knowledge of winter mountain. In fact – it is much more than this. If we should describe with a single word what ski touring means for us, this is Freedom. To be inside a mountain away from the crowds, to be able to “read” the terrain, to decide where and when to go, to make the first turns on an untouched snow slope. This is not for everyone. But once you feel this magic, you can’t leave it.

Ski touring is our passion. And we want more and more people to be fascinated by it because we believe that mountains are a place for really free people, what we are.

This training course is suitable for those of you who ski well on red ski slopes but want something more of well-known resorts and chair lifts queues. We tend to work in a small group because this is important for effective learning and also for your safety.

Minimum number of participants – 4; no more than 6 people per 1 guide.
